Introduction to psychotic disorders for caregivers, family and friends
Psychosis is a Greek word that does no mean much to Norwegians. In this brochure the author explains what psychosis actually is in easy-to-understand laguage using ordinary Norwegian terms. The reader will understand that mental disorders in general, and psychotic disorders in particular, are not "strange", incomprehensible or mystical. Psychoses are serious mental breakdowns, which, simply put, can be described as serious "confused states". You can read about prevention, treatment and progression, and after reading this brochure you will hopefully understand that psychotic disorders are not incurable, but that almost everyone who becomes sick can get well if they actively participate in their treatment.
